Billy Sharp is a prolific striker who is prepared to move on from the past if a particular Welsh team calls and offers him a chance to return to the game.
During his tenure at Sheffield United, Sharp had an outburst about the team and its owners just under a year ago. In the FA Cup’s fourth round, Wrexham and the Blades faced off. As the two teams went into a replay and the then-National League leaders were making headlines, his public altercation caused some resentment.
After that, United released the forward in the summer, and he signed a brief contract to play in the Major League Soccer with LA Galaxy. He scored a goal in each of his twelve appearances, so his time there was well spent. However, the LA team has not extended his contract for the upcoming season, so he is effectively a free agent.

Billy Sharp is still relevant in some way. Although his public outburst against Wrexham and their tactics during the FA Cup match the previous season may have been justified, he would not have gained any favours on the Welsh side of the border by saying what he did in a public setting. Thus, even though it would make for an interesting story, it seems very unlikely that Sharp will be participating.
