Gonzalo Montiel has now expressed his desire to leave Nottingham Forest when the transfer window reopens in January. The Argentine talent is trying to transfer elsewhere after becoming enraged with his lack of playing time.

Last season, Montiel won both the World Cup and the Europa League. Forest signed him as a Sevilla loanee.

The 26-year-old wasn’t supposed to be the starting right-back, but that wasn’t what happened. Jan. is Montiel’s desired departure date. According to Tiro de Canto on X, formerly known as Twitter, Montiel is not pleased with the City Ground. With Sevilla eager to offload Montiel should he return from Forest, the player may find himself somewhat in limbo.

That would imply that the La Liga team would have to look for a different bidder who would be prepared to take him at midseason.

Finding a team willing to purchase Montiel next month may not be simple, considering he has only played five games for Forest.

The forest has failed. Montiel

Alright, so while the 26-year-old’s debut in a Forest shirt wasn’t the best, Renan Lodi’s wasn’t either the previous season. David Prutton stated following his debut that he believed Montiel may struggle at Forest, and it appears that he may have been correct. After that, he settled into the starting lineup, and by the time his loan was over, Forest supporters were eager for him to come back.

It’s difficult to see Montiel performing any worse than Serge Aurier has this season, given how badly Forest has let him down.

It’s not often that a World Cup champion agrees to sign a loan deal with the team, and Steve Cooper could have handled this one more skillfully.

Despite this, he trains with the players every day and makes it obvious that he is not impressed with Montiel at Forest. It appears that his days at the City Ground are now finished. Aurier, Ola Aina, and Neco Williams would therefore have to compete for the position of right back.
