Although Roberto De Zerbi believes Kaoru Mitoma will be able to start against Brentford, Brighton will not have any players making their Amex debuts due to injuries.

Apart from Lewis Dunk and Mahmoud Dahoud being suspended, Albion is currently without Pervis Estupinan (thigh), Tariq Lamptey (thigh), Adam Webster (knock), Danny Welbeck (muscular), Julio Enciso (knee), Ansu Fati (thigh), and Solly March (knee).

After their various ailments, Igor Julio, James Milner, and Mitoma all made a comeback to the field this week. Head coach De Zerbi now claims there haven’t been any team news setbacks following his side’s 3-2 loss to Chelsea on Sunday.

De Zerbi responded, “No,” on Tuesday when asked if any players would be back for the match on Wednesday on the south coast. Not in my opinion. We will assess the situation today (Tuesday) and tomorrow (Wednesday), but I don’t want to take a chance on any potential additional injuries. The team who competed at Stamford Bridge can currently play tomorrow.

Yes, Mitoma played 65 minutes last Thursday in Athens, thus he did not start against Chelsea. He was taking a significant chance by playing for so long. He can probably start tomorrow, but we’ll have to wait and see in the morning.
