Arsenal rested eight players for their European stalemate against PSV Eindhoven but ultimately lost Mohamed Elneny to a hamstring injury.
Thomas Partey – Out
Thomas Partey has missed almost the entirety of the season with a thigh injury which will keep him out until at least January 2024.
Fabio Vieira – Out
Portuguese midfielder Fabio Vieria is another absentee for the Gunners. He missed the weekend’s game with a groin problem.
Jurrien Timber – Out
Summer signing Jurrien Timber is expected to miss most of the season with a serious ACL injury which was sustained in the opening game against Nottingham Forest.
Emile Smith-Rowe – Doubt
Emile Smith-Rowe made a quicker than expected return to the team during Arsenal’s draw with PSV. Despite being available it is likely that Mikel Arteta will slowly integrate him back into the team after his injury.
Bukayo Saka – Doubt
Bukayo Saka had a slight foot injury which led to him being rested in the Champions League. Despite this concern he should be available for this weekend’s league game.
Gabriel Martinelli – Doubt
Gabriel Martinelli was rested in midweek due to illness but is expected to make a full recovery for the Brighton game.
