Everton will stay at Goodison Park until the end of next season as they prepare to move into Bramley-Moore Dock in the near future, according to The Guardian.
The newspaper has reported on its website that the Toffees are planning a “series of events” to mark the end of their 134-year stay at the stadium.
It is said that announcements are due in near course regarding those, with the Bramley-Moore Dock move now set for the start of the 2025-26 season.
Despite other suggestions, the club insist that the decision of when to move is not due to any construction delays at the new build, with some funds still needing to be secured.
Work at Bramley-Moore Dock is scheduled to finish at the end of 2024, with the decision to hold back moving in made early so it isn’t in the middle of next season.
When that moment arrives for Everton to move on, there will be so many mixed emotions.
Of course, moving into a new state-of-the-art complex at Bramley-Moore Dock will be huge for the club and our out future, with so much to come through that.
But, so many memories have been created at Goodison and they will never be forgotten no matter where Everton are playing in the future.
Hopefully, if Sean Dyche and his squad can keep up their immense form, we can be looking more towards Europe next season rather than the bottom three.
That would set up a huge first season on the dock, and it is something that every last fan deserves for what they have had to go through in recent years.
There is such a good feeling flowing around the club right now, and it looks as though a smart decision has been made on the behalf of everyone involved.
