One Rangers defender has received public recognition from Philippe Clement for leading by example for the other members of his team.

As the manager of Ibrox, the Belgian has overseen over 14 games, including a well-earned victory over Aberdeen in the Viaplay Cup Final and a trip to the Europa League round of 16.

The fact that those goals were accomplished in a matter of days shows just how much of an impact Clement has had on a team that was struggling under Michael Beale at the beginning of the season.

Clement had to overcome ongoing unhappiness about injuries at the team in order to succeed early in his Rangers career. Additionally, since the manager’s appointment, there has been a lot of rotation in the starting lineups.

Important players like Connor Goldson, James Tavernier, and Jack Butland have been there from the beginning, even if the latter was not included in the starting lineup for the team’s most recent victory over Dundee at home.

Connor Goldson Rangers attitude highlighted

Clement clarified that he was only giving Goldson a break due to his extremely hectic schedule and upcoming crucial games, which was, of course, a very wise decision.

And at his press conference prior to St Johnstone, Clement has now brought up that scenario one more. At first, he was talking about how important Captain Tavernier was to him as one of his “right-hand men” on the Rangers.

He continued by praising Goldson as an excellent role model for the other members of the team. This is due to the fact that the Englishman didn’t complain about not being in the starting lineup against Dundee, which Clement emphasized was crucial for his future.

“It’s critical to have players on the field who comprehend the narrative,” Clement stated. Not just the tactical narrative, but also the rationale behind your choices and modifications.

They now realize that I will rotate eight players to keep each player performing at their peak. You have to explain each of those things at first. These people must therefore undoubtedly comprehend and set a good example.

“Connor Goldson also missed a game a few weeks prior. However, he was prepared to help the squad and acted in the same way whether he started or stopped. And those factors are crucial for a team of players.
