Rangers have given leftover food from their postponed Ibrox match against Ross County on Wednesday to a Glasgow food bank.
The driving conditions on the highways prevented County from traveling south, thus the Ibrox club declared that the Premiership match was canceled.
It follows severe snowy, windy, and wet conditions brought on by Storm Gerrit that badly damaged the A9 and other key routes in Scotland.
After the game was postponed, Rangers and club catering partner Levy worked together to give leftover food from hospitality suites and kiosks to Glasgow’s The Simon Community, a homeless charity.
“While everyone at Rangers was naturally hoping for tonight’s game to go ahead, we were very keen to support Glasgow’s homeless community with a donation of some of the unused food from our sold-out hospitality suites and kiosks,” stated James Bisgrove, CEO of the Rangers.
“As Rangers, we take great pride in our local origins, and we thought this was the least we could do, especially this time of year. Levy, one of our partners, is greatly appreciated for their outstanding assistance in making this possible.
A new date for the game will be announced by the SPFL when it is appropriate.
