Rangers have reportedly scouted Kai Wagner, a left-back for the Philadelphia Union, in anticipation of another January move, as reported by the Daily Record.
On its website, the newspaper stated that the Bears had turned their focus to defense following the completion of the loan signing of Wolves forward Fabio Silva.
Even though the transfer window doesn’t start until Monday, January 1, Philippe Clement is reportedly aggressively looking for a new left back at Ibrox.
Wagner can enter because Borna Barisic’s contract expires in the summer and Ridvan Yilmaz hasn’t been able to make an impression since signing.
The German has made waves in the Major League Soccer (MLS), being the first Philadelphia Union outfield player to be chosen for two straight All-Star games.
Whoa, the Rangers and Clement aren’t playing around before January.

With 22 assists in 63 games over the last two seasons for Philadelphia, Wagner has established himself as the league’s best defense for a number of years. But after being accused of making a racist remark, the 26-year-old was suspended this year for breaking the MLS’ anti-discrimination code.
Clement has highlighted the left-back position and the last third as two critical areas. If both of those are resolved in the next few days, that might free up an entire month for other transactions.
With the injury issue taking its toll in that area, midfield immediately comes to mind. However, that is one to watch ahead of the window actually opening – bring it on.
