According to reports, Peterborough United plans to profit from Jonson Clarke-Harris’ transfer interest in January.

The Sun claims that Wrexham is one of the teams interested in signing the League One attacker.

The fourth division team is planning a bold move to strengthen Phil Parkinson’s team in an attempt to win back-to-back promotions this year. Lee Gregory is reportedly one of their shortlisted transfer targets for this winter, according to Darren Witcoop.

The club will have a busy month as they want to strengthen their roster in an effort to increase their prospects of promotion.

Carlton Palmer: “Neither player will be inexpensive.”
Carlton Palmer has cautioned that attempting to sign Gregory and Clarke-Harris this month would be a costly endeavor.

He asserted, nonetheless, that if they signed both, their roster for the second half of the season would gain two talented League One players.

Palmer informed Football League World that “Wrexham, going for back-to-back promotions, are interested in signing Lee Gregory and Jonson Clarke-Harris.”

“They are both established League One goal scorers.

“Gregory was promoted to Sheffield Wednesday’s Championship team at the final possible moment of the previous season. With 49 points, Wrexham is currently in third place in League Two.

“Three teams are [automatically] promoted from this league; they are presently in third place.

“Both players are expensive, but if their clubs keep them through the end of the season, Wrexham will have two talented strikers in League One, and their wages will be the only additional expense.”

“I don’t think Peterborough will let Harris go for nothing, so if Wrexham wants him in January, they may need to pay a fee. From what I’m hearing, Peterborough has already turned down offers for him and won’t let him go for a low price.

Parkinson’s team won the National League the previous season to earn promotion back to the EFL, and they are currently chasing a top three position in the League Two standings with Wrexham.

With their sights set on making a comeback to League One, they are currently pursuing yet another promotion.

Wrexham is currently four points ahead of fourth place in the standings, having previously played in the third division of English football in 2005. The Red Dragons’ next match is on January 7th against Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup third round.

Evidence of Wrexham’s aspirations
The connections to Gregory and Clarke-Harris indicate that Wrexham wants to advance this year.

The two have both shown their mettle in League One in recent years, so a drop to the fourth division would be a letdown.

If talks proceed that far, Wrexham’s apparent short-term plans for League Two should be a central theme in their conversations with both parties.

This month, Wrexham clearly have money to spend, therefore it’s an exciting moment to be a fan of the Welsh team.
