The Tennessee Titans are gearing up for their final match of the season as they prepare to face the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday.

This game carries significant weight as it could mark Derrick Henry’s farewell appearance in a Titans uniform.

Henry finds himself in the last year of his contract with the Tennessee Titans, following unsuccessful attempts to secure a long-term deal in 2023. It seems increasingly likely that he will part ways with the team during the upcoming offseason.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Henry remains steadfast in his focus on the upcoming Jaguars clash. He emphasized that he and the team are treating this game like any other, aiming to avoid getting bogged down by speculation about his departure.

Tennessee Titans’ Derrick Henry Speaks Out On Possible Last Game
“We’ll just treat it as any other game,” Henry stated during an interview with Kayla Anderson of 104.5 The Zone. “Try not to get too caught up, too overwhelmed. Just enjoy the moment. Focus on finishing the season strong, going out there playing a good game overall as a team, and hopefully getting the win.

Throughout the current season’s first 16 games, the former University of Alabama standout has showcased his talent by rushing for 1,014 yards and securing 11 touchdowns while maintaining an average of 3.9 yards per carry. Additionally, he has contributed 28 receptions for 214 yards.

Derrick Henry’s journey with the Tennessee Titans began when they selected him in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft. While his initial years in the league were relatively unremarkable, his third season proved to be a turning point. In that breakout year, he accumulated 1,059 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns, boasting an impressive 4.9 yards per attempt. Subsequently, he led the NFL in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns for two consecutive seasons, peaking at 2,027 yards and 17 scores in 2020, with an astounding 5.4 yards per carry.

In 2021, Henry appeared to be on track for another remarkable season until an injury cut his year short after just eight games. He made a triumphant return in the following season, amassing 1,538 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Hailing from Yulee, Florida, Henry’s exceptional performances have earned him three Pro Bowl selections and a First-Team All-Pro honor.

As the season draws to a close, both Henry and the Tennessee Titans find themselves with a record of 5-11, making it a bittersweet ending to a chapter that may soon come to a close.
