Tennessee Titans GM Ran Carthon moves quickly to replace coach Mike Vrabel. Here is a list of reported candidates for the job.
On Tuesday, Tennessee Titans general manager Ran Carthon said that he and the team’s leadership were actively beginning the search for a new coach to replace Mike Vrabel. True to his word, several reports have surfaced within 24 hours of Carthon’s press conference, indicating that the team is moving quickly in the search.
Here are the seven candidates named so far in reported interview requests:
Brian Callahan, offensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals (source: Justin Melo from The Draft Network).
Antonio Pierce, Las Vegas Raiders interim head coach (source: NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport).
Aaron Glenn, the defensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions (source: ESPN’s Adam Schefter).
Ben Johnson, Detroit Lions offensive coordinator (source: NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero).
Mike Kafka, New York Giants offensive coordinator (source: Pelissero).
Mike Macdonald, Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator (source: Schefter).
Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn (source: Pelissero).
Several of the coaches, including Quinn, will get requests from other teams for interviews. There are seven NFL coaching vacancies: Titans, Carolina Panthers, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers, Atlanta Falcons, Seattle Seahawks, and Washington Commanders.
“We’re going to run an exhaustive process to find our next head coach. It’s going to involve a lot of people,” Carthon said. “Obviously, I’ll be a part of that. Miss Amy will be a part of that and others. But we want to make sure that we’re getting the right people in here. I think it’s going to be well-documented.”
