Rangers transfer rumours appear to be falling by the wayside at the minute.

First the excitement around Michy Batshuayi was quickly extinguished when the club appeared to brief that there was no interest in the Belgian striker who is on close to £60,000 a week at Fenerbahce and then the man himself completely quashed it today by saying he will stay put for the season and help his club become champions of Turkey.

The latest one was South African playmaker Tashreeq Matthews who has been performing well in Sweden with IK Sirius but it is understood no approach will be made on that front. Indeed, it’s all seemed like bad news for Gers fans apart from that early signing of Fabio Silva from Wolves.

Josh Doig now looks set for Marseille after reported interest from

Ibrox and there were also links to Scott McKenna and Emmanuel Dennis of Nottingham Forest. And while there ones that haven’t been played down by the club, we reported that no approach has been made to the EPL club

A return for Ryan Kent was previously mooted with the winger out of the picture at Fenerbahce and it’s now been claimed he wants a return to either the top flight in Scotland or England. Turkish broadcaster Ahmet Selim Kul said: “I have heard that from Kent’s side that he does not want to leave Fenerbahce in this transfer window but I believe he will leave. There is a lot of interest in him from Turkey, the English Championship, with Hull City wanting to transfer him.

“Their owner is Turkish and has a very good relationship with Fenerbahce. It is not clear what Kent will do because I have heard that he wants to return to Premier League or Scottish Premiership. He does not want to go to the Championship or another Turkish team.”

It’s still not clear if Clement holds any interest in Hearts Lawrence Shankland – but Jim Duffy has been explaining why he’d be the perfect fit for the Belgian’s system.

There are also likely to be departures from Ibrox and Sam Lammers has headed that up by signing on loan with Utrecht until the end of the season, although the deal doesn’t contain on option to buy.
