We’re delighted to welcome Sky Sports journalist Dan Bardell as our exclusive Aston Villa columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at the club…
Dan Bardell expects Aston Villa to loan out Lamare Bogarde again in the January transfer window after a development has emerged.
Bristol Rovers announced on their website on 4 January that the 20-year-old midfielder has been recalled by Villa from his loan spell with the League One side.
During his time at the Memorial Stadium, the Dutch U-20 international, who signed for the Villans from Feyenoord in 2020, made 18 appearances in his second loan stint with the club.
Bardell now expects Bogarde to head out on loan to a Championship club for the second half of the season after proving himself in League One with Bristol Rovers.
Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bardell said: “They will have recalled Bogarde so he can go out and play out on loan again at a higher level I would have thought.
“I think his loan with Bristol Rovers has been quite successful, so they obviously think he’s more than competent playing at that level.
“I would imagine he’s coming back so Villa can look to get him a higher-level loan in the Championship and see how he fairs there.
“That would be what I think would happen with that.”
