Orel Mangala will not get a loan agreement approved by Nottingham Forest in the January transfer window.

That’s what Fabrizio Romano says.

What is the current state of affairs involving the Forest guy, given that clubs are interested in Mangala? We examine more closely…

This month, Mangala will not be heading out on loan.
Mangala is apparently desired and it looks likely that he will leave Forest, but it won’t be on loan.

Fabrizio Romano claims that only a sale would be approved and that the Belgian player will not be permitted to temporarily leave the City Ground.

Mangala cost £12 million to join Forest in the summer of 2022 from Stuttgart, and he has since shown great promise.

He’s been the most successful passer among Forest’s midfielders this season, according to Who Scored, so losing him wouldn’t be ideal.

However, Mangala hasn’t started a game under Nuno Espirito Santo and was overlooked for the Blackpool game in the FA Cup last weekend.

Forest could be making big mistake over Mangala

The news surrounding a possible departure for the 25-year-old has come out of the blue and losing him wouldn’t be ideal.

With clubs such as Napoli and Juventus eyeing moves, however, it could be that Mangala is actually keen to leave.

Ultimately, when a manager comes to a new club there will always be players who don’t fit into their plans.

In this instance, Mangala looks like one of the fall guys and in fairness, the Forest squad is far too big

The man with 12 caps for his country will be wanting to play for Belgium at the Euros next summer and to do that he will need to be playing.

Mangala has made 49 appearances for Forest but now, reaching 50 might not be on the cards and it will be interesting to see if the club does manage to sell him this month.
