We weren’t sure what Mike Vrabel and the Tennessee Titans’ future held at this time last week. As of right now, we are aware that Amy Adams-Strunk fired Vrabel on Tuesday and that she, together with Ran Carthon, initiated the search for a new coach. Carthon informed us that the Titans planned to conduct a comprehensive search. Thus far, they have fulfilled that.
All of our search updates are available here, however as of right now, rumors are circulating that titans have asked to speak with the following applicants for an interview:
Bengals of Cincinnati OC Callahan, Brian
Detroit Lions DC Glenn Aaron
Las Vegas Raiders interim coach Antonio Pierce
Dallas Cowboys DC Dan Quinn
New York Giants OC Mike Kafka
Lions OC Ben Johnson
Baltimore Ravens DC Mike Macdonald
Houston Texans OC Bobby Slowik
Philadelphia Eagles OC Brian Johnson
This past weekend, the Titans began the interview process. They have already finished their virtual interviews with Callahan, Pierce, Kafka, and Macdonald, but they were unable to speak with the coaches of the teams that were playing this weekend. This week, they intend to finish the virtual interviews with the remaining applicants.
Although they haven’t explained the procedure to us, I assume that at least a few of these candidates will be invited for in-person interviews following the virtual interview stage. They will have to wait until the club wins the Super Bowl or his team is eliminated from the playoffs in order to appoint a coach from a playoff-caliber team.
Right now, which of these names is your favorite?
