Alan Nixon claims that Jack Clarke, a target for West Ham, might wait until the summer transfer season to depart Sunderland.

A reporter for The Sun newspaper responded to a Sunderland supporter on his personal Twitter account on January 21. He said that the forward, who was formerly described as “wonderful” by former Mackems manager Tony Mowbray (Leeds Live, September 22), is probably going to be sold in the summer rather than this month.

The Black Cats value Clarke at £20 million at the Stadium of Light, thus the Hammers are prepared to move quickly to sign him at the London Stadium, according to UK tabloid The Mirror (January 13).

With 13 Championship goals and two assists in his stellar season with the North East club, the 22-year-old has drawn a lot of interest from Premier League teams, including the Hammers.

For the duration of the season, the forward is anticipated to stay at the Stadium of Light.

Before his disastrous transfer to Tottenham Hotspur, clubs and supporters were already accustomed to Clarke’s incredible gifts, so he’s definitely not one of those geniuses suddenly emerging on the scene.

He has, however, elevated his game since joining Sunderland, having already scored 13 goals this season after recording an incredible nine goals and twelve assists in the 2022–2023 campaign.

With players like Said Benrahma, Maxwel Cornet, and Pablo Fornals all rumored to be leaving West Ham United in January, Clarke would be a great option for David Moyes to pursue given his age, potential, homegrown status, and talent.

It is improbable that the club will pay £20 million for his services, especially during the January transfer window. Deals of such nature are for the extended summer transfer window, during which teams are anticipated to part with a substantial number of money in order to adequately rebuild squads.

Given his price tag and the fact that he needs to improve in the Championship before making the significant step up to the Premier League, Clarke seems like a perfect summer addition.

The formidable West Ham United might be the best team for Clarke to continue his meteoric climb.
