The Wrexham team’s attempts to capture Aaron Collins from Bristol Rovers have gotten a major boost.

Dan Hargraves, a Bristol Rovers writer, reports that the 26-year-old attacker will not be playing on Saturday afternoon in League One against Oxford United.
In an attempt to bolster their bids for consecutive promotions, Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds of Wrexham and Charlton Athletic have both inquired about his availability for the month of January.

Since then, Bristol Rovers manager Matt Taylor has made comments regarding the likelihood of players departing the team this month. “If the right offer comes in, not just in terms of transfer fees but also loans for anyone who’s not getting the game time they feel they deserve or want,” he stated.
“In that regard, we must be transparent. However, the team has suddenly become very small, which is odd to say considering that when I first joined the club, the team was large and well-established. All we needed was an important contribution on the field.
“So there’s always room for manoeuvre in the next week or so but I’ve said all along that the reason I took the job was because of the quality in the squad and I always want to look within the building before looking elsewhere.”

Collins has led the division in assists with eight, despite not being able to duplicate his prolific play in front of goal from the previous season, when he scored 16 goals and added 11 more assists. Collins has still continued to provide up opportunities for his teammates. As the team considers whether to cash in on one of the more valued players in the squad, his form continues to draw increasing numbers of suitors.
Next summer marks the expiration of his present contract with the League One team.
FUTURE PLANS FOR COLLINS?
Collins is still not in the starting lineup as the January transfer window draws to a close. It is unclear if he will stay in Bristol or move to Wrexham to work for the Hollywood owners.
