The Los Angeles Chargers are determined to outperform their results from 2023–2024. Jim Harbaugh, a former football coach at Michigan, was brought in by the Chargers to take over as head coach. JJ Watt also emphasized the importance of Harbaugh’s decision to hire Ben Herbert, a former strength coach for the Wolverines and Badgers.

Ben Herbert and the Chargers aim to soar.
To introduce Jim Harbaugh and the Chargers’ dark-horse coaching staff move, JJ Watt spoke on the Pat McAfee Show.

According to Pat McAfee, Watt stated, “One of the underrated moves about the Jim Harbaugh deal is the Chargers hiring Ben Herbert as their strength coach.”

Hebert worked for six years as the strength coach for the Michigan football team before moving to Los Angeles to accompany Harbaugh. In addition, he worked with JJ Watt during his 11 seasons as a member of the Wisconsin Badgers strength and conditioning staff.

Watt went on to compliment Herbert for his extraordinary impact on the morale and output of the team. Herbert is “a game-changer,” according to the renowned defensive end, whose presence and demeanor have a great effect on teams.

With their new hire, the Chargers appear to have struck gold. To make up for its regular-season performance, Los Angeles needs all the assistance it can get.

The Chargers were 5-12 at the end of the season and missed the NFL Playoffs. As a result, the team fired head coach Brandon Staley and hired Jim Harbaugh, the undisputed star quarterback from Michigan. After winning a national championship, Harbaugh hopes to lead Los Angeles up the AFC West.

It will be intriguing to watch what further moves the organization makes to bolster its presence as the NFL offseason goes on.
