The Chicago White Sox star Dylan Cease deal package to the Baltimore Orioles was made public.

In an unexpected move, Corbin Burnes was acquired by the Baltimore Orioles. They were reportedly interested in Burnes and Dylan Cease throughout the offseason. But with Spring Training rapidly approaching, no agreement appeared to be in the works.

Over his career, Burnes has outperformed Cease. It may be argued that Cease’s one-year contract would have made him a better fit, but that is not the main concern. It is expected across the league that the Orioles will be prepared to pay Burnes when his time comes the following offseason.

Although they were able to acquire Burnes, Baltimore had made Cease an offer. Bob Nightengale of USA Today said that the Orioles made Cease an offer that was “basically the same package.” While they did offer a different player, Nightengale says they did not specify who it was.

He continues by saying that the Chicago White Sox think the Milwaukee Brewers’ return is the minimum amount they should get in exchange for moving Cease.

When that moment will arrive is unknown. The White Sox might hang onto him until the trade deadline since Spring Training will begin in a few weeks. Although that is a dangerous tactic because of possible injuries and other considerations, it might be the best one for

An ace-caliber pitcher will cost a contending team a lot of money before the deadline, but in exchange, they might get a higher return than they would have in the offseason. If the Orioles go in on Cease again at the deadline, don’t be shocked. They have the potential to close a trade and could be able to add another pitcher as they prepare for the postseason.
