Referee Don Robertson stuck with his call after his VAR sidekicks sent him to review it again; nevertheless, Ibrox management is optimistic that the judgment will be overturned in a fast-track appeal hearing on Thursday.
Boss Philippe Clement commented on the choice, saying, “That it was a harsh decision for me.” Dujon tripped and collided with the opponent’s toes. Up till now, I haven’t seen many red cards that allow you to touch the opponent’s toes. I cannot recall a single moment if I were to look back. That is a severe one, which makes the game’s conclusion challenging. However, I am aware that it is a challenging career because we are required to make decisions on a daily basis while in training. We have to accept the referee’s decision at the end.”
