Everton now strongly look at Patson Daka transfer
Everton are now strongly considering a move for Leicester City striker Patson Daka as they look to strengthen their forward line, according to Football Transfers.
The online news outlet shared on 15 August that, following their signing of Jack Harrison on loan from Leeds, Everton are looking at deals for Daka, as well as Leeds’ Willy Gnonto and Udinese forward Beto.
Daka was linked to Everton previously in the window, when the Daily Mail [8 August] reported the Toffees had made contact with Leicester over a loan deal, while the Foxes would prefer a permanent move if they are to let him go.
A decision to be made
Everton will need to make a decision soon on who they want to be their priority target at striker in the remaining weeks of the transfer window. With around two weeks until the window closes on 1 September, they will have to move quickly to get their man.
Sean Dyche is keen on bringing in a more experienced striker after the arrival of 19-year-old Youssef Chermiti, and Daka fits that mould despite being just 24 years old with plenty of room to grow.
The Zambian forward has been at Leicester for two seasons, where he scored a combined nine goals in 53 appearances. On the face of it, a terrible goalscoring record, but when you consider he played an average of just 44 minutes per game in that time, he wasn’t exactly given a fair chance at the King Power.
Looking at his stats from his time at Salzburg, before the £25.7million move to Leicester, he managed 27 goals and seven assists in 28 Austrian Bundesliga games, in what will be more exciting reading for Toffees fans.
On top of Daka, the Toffees have also been linked with Southampton striker Che Adams, but they face competition from Crystal Palace and Bournemouth for the Scottish forward.
