Luton Town – There May Be Trouble Ahead
It would seem that the Hatters, well one in particular, has fallen foul of the rules.
Reports are filtering through that our defender, Amari’i Bell, could be set to be fined for wearing a headband with a Nike log on it.
Apparently, it contravenes the rules and Bell could face a financial penalty.
To me, it is hard to comprehend, especially when Bell wore a similar headband throughout our EFL Championship campaign last season.
But I can’t help feeling the authorities are missing out on the greater ills we’ve experienced in our first weekend of Premier League football.
Firstly, I wonder if any action will be taken against Arsenal for the thirty-minute delay to the kick-off courtesy of introducing a new ticketing system that, to put it mildly, didn’t work?
Or, secondly, how about the delay to the kick-off in the Brentford v Tottenham Hotspur game after it was noticed the ground had no supply of running water.
It wouldn’t surprise me if both incidents are brushed under the carpet.
But one thing that is clearly amiss is the VAR system!
On Sunday I witnessed what many thought was a clear penalty turned down, after the Chelsea player, Nicholas Jackson, clearly handled the ball and, on Monday, I watched the Manchester United goalkeeper, clearly fail to get the ball, and demolish two Wolverhampton Wanderers players in the process.
You could ask if VAR favours the bigger clubs?
Meanwhile we await to see the size of the penalty handed out to Amari’i Bell, 30-point deduction anyone?
