Everton have made a fourth bid for Wilfried Gnonto.
That’s according to Sky Sports News, who have claimed that their latest offer stands at £25 million inclusive of add-ons, plus a sell-on clause.
Gnonto has long been linked with a move to Goodison Park and has been in negotiations with the Toffees for over a month, however Leeds United have recently confirmed that the winger is not for sale.
Everton’s previous bid was said to be less than £20m, which is far from the Whites’ valuation of the youngster. Sean Dyche’s side will likely have to make a huge offer to tempt Leeds United into selling, why they continue to insist he won’t be leaving the club this summer.
Gnonto enjoyed a stellar debut campaign at Elland Road last time out, picking up two goals and four assists as he proved to be one of their biggest attacking threats in a disappointing year.
The Italian could be one of Everton’s most effective transfer targets if they can pick him up, with the forward creating 22 chances in the Premier League – twice as many as PSG’s Hugo Ekitike, in a much weaker side.
Leeds United manager is adamant on Wilfried Gnonto position despite Everton bid
Leeds United boss Daniel Farke made it very clear that the club have no intention of selling Wilfried Gnonto.
Speaking in Wednesday’s press conference, Farke said: “With Willy we’ve spoken at length and what I think is important to say is that Helder Costa, Willy Gnonto and Luis Sinisterra are training separate from the group. They have individual training in order to stay fit.
“They’ve been moved out of the dressing room for different reason’s we’ve spoken at length about the situation with Willy.
“With Helder Costa everything is more relaxed. It’s his and our wish that there will be a solution and it’s professional. With Luis Sinisterra it’s a different situation.
“There is no exit clause and we’ve made it clear that we won’t sell Willy. With Luis it’s different, he has an exit clause and there were some open question marks.
“Until everything is sorted from a legal point of view, he won’t train with the group as he can’t focus on training. It seems it’ll be sorted quickly. All these three players were training separately.”
