Leicester City transfer news from LeicestershireLive as Arjan Raikhy looks ahead to a ‘new chapter’ with the Foxes

Former Aston Villa midfielder Arjan Raikhy has confirmed his move to Leicester City.

The 20-year-old left Villa at the end of last season and spent a brief trial period with Leicester’s under-21s in May. And now he has posted a photograph of himself signing for the Foxes.

Raikhy accompanied the social media post with the words: “New chapter. Delighted to be here at @LCFC (blue heart emoji). Let’s go!”

His father Rav told Sky Sports News: “We’re all so proud to see Arjan sign for Leicester, who are of course former Premier League champions. It’s been a wonderful journey with Aston Villa, and as a family we’re grateful to everyone at the club and the amazing Villa fans for all of the support.

“Now, it’s time for the next chapter. It’s a really exciting move for Arjan and it gives kids the chance to dare to dream. The journey continues.”

Raikhy, who is expected to link up with City’s under-21 squad initially, started out at West Bromwich Albion before joining the youth ranks at Villa. He was handed a senior debut in an FA Cup tie against Liverpool in January 2021, and went on to help Villa lift the FA Youth Cup.

He has also spent time on loan at Stockport County and Grimsby Town to gain more experience of first-team football. The player was said to be a potential target for Wolves and several League Two clubs but it appears Leicester have secured his services.
