West Ham United have held talks with PSG forward Hugo Ekitike ahead of a potential move to the London Stadium.
Indeed, David Moyes’ side are said to have had a ‘positive meeting’ for the ‘special’ 21-year-old, who could be set to depart the French capital.
That is according to journalist Santi Aouna, who reported the news via his Twitter, stating:
In parallel with this discussion, the English club discussed with the player’s representatives.”
Everton have been linked with the Frenchman and were said to be ‘pushing hard’ for his signature, as per journalist Rudy Galetti who recently reported:
“Everton are pushing hard for #Ekitike: talks with #PSG are progressing at a good pace.
Understand the club (Everton) is speeding things up to anticipate the competition of Eintracht and other (European) teams interested in the ST.
Hugo hasn’t made a decision on his future yet.”
Everton are set to once again miss out on exciting prospect, as Ekitike looks West Ham bound
Everton are once again leaving it late in the window to secure targets in key areas of the pitch where investment is desperately required.
Hugo Ekitike would be a superb addition to Sean Dyche’s squad, but the Toffees now risk losing out on the young forward to West Ham United, having already missed out on targets such as Viktor Gyokeres and El Bilal Toure earlier in the window.
The Toffees have also seen a £15m bid rejected by Leeds United for Wilfried Gnonto, with the Yorkshire club determined to keep hold of the Italian international.
Everton cannot go into another season with such limited attacking options and with Demarai Gray looking likely to complete a move to Saudi Pro League side Al Shabab, Sean Dyche will have even fewer options unless reinforcements are secured.
