Khaled Al-Thunayan, president of Al Shabab, has made a revelation about securing the services of Everton attacker Demarai Gray this summer.

In an interview on Saudi Arabian TV, as transcribed by Globo (23 August), the plans are to sign the Jamaica international soon

The 27-year-old has been linked with the exit door this summer and now there appears to be official confirmation on the plans to sign him.

Al-Thunayan said, “God willing, we will soon sign Demarai Gray, a player from Everton and the Jamaican national team.”

Get it done

Interest in Gray surfaced long ago and still there do not seem to be any concrete moves taken in order to secure the Jamaican’s services.

Hopefully, now with the confirmation, things move forward quickly and the sale goes ahead in the next few days.

Everton desperately need the funds to strengthen the first team and it’s clear from watching their 4-0 loss to Aston Villa that not everything is right at the club.

There’s only so much that a manager can do so it’s hard to pin all of this down on Sean Dyche and fingers must be pointed at the board.

Hopefully, in the coming days, more new faces walk through the door as right now, this side appears destined for relegation.

A new striker has to be the priority and somebody needs to be signed before the game over the weekend or another loss may be on the cards.

In other Everton news, a first-team player linked with a Premier League rival club may now force his Goodison Park exit unless Sean Dyche axes a senior man.
