Latest Derby County news from Derbyshire Live brings you what the Rams head coach has said about the Republic of Ireland international.

Paul Warne says there have been no fresh offers for Derby County defender Eiran Cashin but does feel the speculation surrounding his future has affected him.

Premier League Brighton still retains a strong interest in the Republic of Ireland under-21 international having seen several offers rejected for the highly-rated centre-back.

Derby will want north of £3m before they consider allowing Cashin to depart and would hope to retain him on a season-long loan as part of any deal.

Cashin had a fine game in the 1-0 win over Fleetwood last weekend as Warne’s side secured their first home win of the season, and looked much more like the player who finished last term with the young player of the season award.

Responding to a question as to whether there had been any further bids for Cashin ahead of Saturday’s trip to Peterborough, Derby head coach Warne said: “We haven’t received any fresh offers.

“That doesn’t mean a fresh offer won’t come in and that doesn’t mean a conversation won’t be had with a fresh offer.

“I am not trying to be secretive. Everyone is affordable to every other club aren’t they really?

“I appreciate where we are in the pyramid and I appreciate how good Cash was last year.

“But I do think (speculation) has affected him a little bit. But I thought the other day was the best he has been.
