West Ham have started discussions with Corinthians over a move for Brazil international forward Yuri Alberto, according to Knees Up Mother Brown.
The West Ham fan site reported on Sunday [27 August] that the Hammers have made contact in the hope of striking a deal for the 22-year-old ahead of next week’s transfer deadline.
Alberto only signed a five-year deal with Corinthians in January after returning to the club from Zenit Saint Petersburg.

West Ham are close to finalising the signing of Mohammed Kudus [6foot2], the Ghanaian following in the steps of Edson Alvarez, James Ward-Prowse and Konstantinos Mavropanos in making the move to East London.
If the transfer window was to close today, it would be a hugely impressive summer for the Hammers, even if they did lose star player Declan Rice.
But the exciting news is that more incoming activity can be expected between now and 11pm deadline on 1 September.
Alberto is far more unknown than any of the other players West Ham have brought in this month, having spent all but five months of his six-year career in his Brazilian homeland.
The Santos academy graduate has four goals and two assists in 19 Brasileiro appearances this season and earned his first senior Brazil cap in May’s friendly with Morocco.
It could be another smart piece of business from West Ham’s perspective as they continue to build a squad capable of challenging on both the domestic and European fronts.
