Spurs have money to spend in the final days of the transfer window following the departure of Harry Kane earlier in the summer

Tottenham are focused on getting rid of some of their deadwood before Friday’s deadline but they have a serious interest in signing Johnson from Forest.

The winger has emerged as the north London club’s top target going into the final days of the transfer window.

However, no agreement is imminent and it has been claimed that Nottingham Forest do expect Spurs to drag the negotiations until late in the window.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is known for being a tough negotiator and leaving it late to complete deals on deadline day.

Tottenham are set to push for Johnson’s signing but Nottingham Forest are expecting that the negotiations could drag on until deadline day on Friday.

The winger is a key player for Forest but the club will sell if their asking price is met by any club.

They want as much as Newcastle United paid to sign Anthony Gordon from Everton last January.
