According to Rik Elfrink, PSV Eindhoven have rejected Nottingham Forest’s latest offer for Ibrahim Sangaré. On Wednesday night, the Premier League side submitted a new bid worth €34m plus bonuses for the 25-year-old midfielder. Sangaré is still unsure whether or not he wants to leave the club.

Negotiations took place between the two clubs in London today, but PSV have made their feelings clear. The Eredivisie side wants at least €37.5m for Sangaré and, even if that offer is accepted, it’s down to the Ivory Coast international to decide whether or not he wants to leave the Philips Stadion.

On Wednesday, Sangaré featured in PSV’s 5-1 win over Rangers. The victory meant that the Dutch giants progressed to the group stages of the Champions League for the first time since 2018. Champions League football could be a huge factor for Sangaré, if a move comes down to his decision. PSV have been drawn with Arsenal, Sevilla and Lens in their group.

Sangaré has been a crucial player for PSV ever since he signed from Toulouse in 2020. The player still has four years remaining on his current contract. Last season Ibrahim Sangaré featured 45 times in all competitions as PSV finished second in the Eredivisie and lifted the KNVB Cup. The 31-time Ivory Coast international scored eight goals and provided three assists. The next 24 hours are crucial in determining the midfielder’s future, but for now, it looks like Sangaré will be staying in Eindhoven.
