Steve Cooper was all praise for the now-Leeds United loanee Djed Spence, who impressed while on loan at Nottingham Forest to earn his move to Tottenham. After joining on a season-long loan, Djed Spence has already expressed his determination to help Leeds United return to the Premier League at the earliest opportunity. The former Nottingham Forest full-back assisted Steve Cooper’s team in getting promoted two years ago, but since making a lucrative switch to Tottenham, he has had difficulty progressing.

But you need that if you want to play on this team. He shows a lot of respect. He is unassuming, and that is probably the best way to describe him. But once you start talking to him, he comes out as an intelligent person.

He is like many young athletes in that while things are going well, he still has room for improvement. I have yet to meet a 21-year-old who does not need to improve certain aspects of his game. We adore having him here. Our responsibility is to keep working to bring out the best in him.
