Brendanball has at last arrived. It will be really intriguing once we are fully functional.

Although Celtic’s victory against Ibrox yesterday wasn’t their best effort of the season, it was unquestionably their best under Brendan Rodgers’ second-term leadership.

It was a huge victory because we had little chance of winning yesterday, which was understandable considering our injury situation and recent bad results. Of course, The Celtic Star writers who fronted up to provide their pre-matches views and score prediction forecasts predicted that.

In spite of the fact that we would have only trailed by one point with two more home games against them, the home team’s victory would have given them momentum and led them to declare themselves unbeatable, and we would have been in a desperate situation.

It simply goes to show how quickly things can change in sport, and while we should take note of that caution, I believe we are in a strong position after the manner in which we defeated Ibrox yesterday. The athletes yesterday appeared at ease. The confidence was back, and the players appeared to be communicating better than they had in the previous several games.

Brendan is a competent manager, as he demonstrated yesterday. He played a patched-up, underwhelming team against us in a difficult environment and managed to come away with three points, and he did it with style.

Ignore the sobbing from the home team; yeah, they missed opportunities and were annoyed by VAR, which is true, it must be said. We should have scored more than one goal despite their wastefulness in front of goal. We passed up an astonishing number of opportunities. Mick Beale and company were fortunate that the loss was just by one goal.

It is encouraging for the future when you consider that we were without individuals like CCV, Maik Nawrocki, Stephen Welsh, Reo Hatate, and we still have yet to see newcomers Marco Tilio, Luis Palma, Paulo Bernardo, and Nat Phillips in action.

Brendan has only just begun. When we are flying and at full strength, it will be interesting.
