Coventry City is still allowed to sign new players even if the summer transfer season has ended since the team may still sign free agents.
In total, 11 new players joined the Sky Blues during the summer transfer window, while 14 others left, making Mark Robins’ team a touch smaller than it was the year before. On the day of the transfer deadline, the management wanted two additional players—a central defender and a midfielder—but only acquired one when Barnsley center-back
signed a four-year, £4.5 million contract.
However, clubs do have an opportunity to address any roster gaps they may have outside of the transfer window by signing free agents.
We’ve looked at the free agents released from Premier League and Championship clubs, as well as a select number from around the world, because there are still players available on the market.
