It has been revealed that on the day of the transfer deadline, Nottingham Forest attempted to sign James McAtee from Manchester City.

The Daily Mail linked the Reds to the Citizens player, but once it became known that Forest was letting Brennan Johnson go, they began looking at other options.

However, McAtee was transferred to the Premier League. He began his loan at Sheffield United on the day of the transfer deadline.

The teenager was on loan to Bramall Lane during the previous season. He made 43 appearances with the Blades, contributing four assists and nine goals.

McAtee, who is 20 years old, appears to have a promising future with Manchester City. He will now get the opportunity to play Premier League football with the Blades this year.

Seven appearances for City’s senior squad have already been made by the center midfielder. He appears to be highly regarded by Pep Guardiola, and he will aim to excel in South Yorkshire.

On deadline day, Forest bolstered their center midfield. The most notable addition was Ibrahim Sangare, however Nicolas Dominguez also arrived at City Ground.

Jack Robinson, who had played for Forest, is currently with Sheffield United. In April of last year, he referred to that player as “fantastic,” and he will be overjoyed that he is back with the team.

On a hectic signing deadline day, Forest tried to sign McAtee.

As a result,

Once they secured Nuno Tavares, Forest would not have been allowed to sign McAtee on a temporary basis. There are only two Premier League loanees allowed at any given time, and Andrey Santos is the other one.

McAtee appears to be a great talent in the near future. But just now, Forest needs tried and true, and it’s probable that Sheffield United will keep an eye on his progress there.
