newest hires Both Yunus Akgun and Abdul Fatawu will compete for a Leicester City jersey as they go head-to-head for the right wing position.

Yunus and Fatawu made their home debuts on Saturday in the 1-0 loss to Hull after being recruited on loans from Galatasaray and Sporting Lisbon, respectively, in the final week of the window. The Turk started on the right before being substituted by a Ghanaian for the final 35 minutes.

Although they occasionally played inside or on the left, both players have spent the majority of their careers on the right-hand flank. Manager Enzo Maresca claims he will use them on the right side, where they are most useful.

In the match on Saturday, Fatawu stood out because he consistently outplayed his full-back and came the closest to scoring an equalizer by striking the base of the far post after cutting inside on his left foot of choice.

Maresca described Fatawu as “very good in one versus one, very quick.” But he needs time because he was born in 2004. But he will undoubtedly assist us. When I saw him at Sporting, he was typically playing on the right side.

There’s also Macca (Kasey McAteer). He has two goals. There, Wanya (Marcal) has also participated and scored once. Therefore, we have several choices. Yunus and Abdul do, however, favor playing on the right side.

Before Yunus and Fatawu arrived, Maresca notes that City had previously played three different right-handed players, rotating between McAteer, Marcal, and Marc Albrighton. On Saturday, Albrighton didn’t even make the bench, Marcal was an inactive substitute, and McAteer played on the left.

Harvey Barnes’ July sale to Newcastle left City with just one senior winger who was a known entity, but with the elevation of McAteer and Marcal from the development team and the signing of three players – Stephy
