As Crystal Palace looks to develop players for the present and the future, there are many great talents and prospects there.
Defender Marc Guehi is one of the club’s top players, and it’s obvious from his performances that many people are beginning to take notice of the 23-year-old.
Guehi is now valued at £40 million, while top Liverpool defender van Dijk is reportedly worth £ 30 million, according to The Football Observatory CIES.
Virgil van Dijk, a center back for Liverpool who has won everything at his club and even finished third in the coveted 2019 Ballon d’Or honors, is currently valued lower than Marc Guehi.
Van Dijk is still a fine player at the age of 32, but his peak years may be behind him. Guehi, who is 23 years old and still a prospect, has demonstrated that he has a very high ceiling.
Despite still being a young man, the English defender has already led Palace on several times and is a regular member of England squads.
It should not come as a surprise that he is currently valued better than the Dutch international given that he is a “brilliant” defender with leadership abilities and top potential.
This summer, Guehi was apparently wanted by a number of elite Premier League teams, including Arsenal, and it appears that the Eagles will find it difficult to hold him for the long term.
It will be intriguing to see how Guehi’s career develops because he undoubtedly possesses all the necessary skills to become a center-back of the highest caliber.
