In his second season as Celtic manager, Brendan Rodgers said he wants to spend more time in Scotland.

After a contentious departure for Leicester City more than four years prior, Rodgers returned to the Hoops hot seat in the middle of June.

If we’re being completely honest, things have been a touch odd ever since. While the transfer window ended up being a bit of a last-minute scramble, the team hadn’t really looked convincing in any of its matches.

On Sunday, though, things seemed to alter as Celtic overcame a variety of difficulties to defeat Rangers 1-0 at Ibrox. It might be the significant outcome we required to shake off the dust and commit fully to the second Rodgers era.

The derby victory was our last game for the better part of a fortnight before the season’s first unexpected international break. Rodgers intends to take a break from football for at least a few days.

He said on talkSPORT, “It’s been absolutely brilliant.”

Actually, I’m going to love Scotland more this time. I adored it when I first came up here. If I’m being honest, though, I think I took it a little bit for granted.

“For instance, I have a few days off during the current international break up in the highlands. And I’ll simply savor the life I have here because it’s wonderful, Glasgow is a beautiful city, and I’ve gotten used to it very quickly.

Rodgers could be reading this story in Glenfinnan, Fort William, or Aviemore, for example. We’ve heard he reads everything we write.

The former Liverpool manager has made numerous references to how much he enjoys living in Scotland.

At his press conference for his unveiling, he remarked, “I have to admit, Scotland provided me a lot of happiness on and off the pitch when I was here. I had a great deal of respect for the city and the nation as a whole, so when we were considering returning, it wasn’t only about the football aspect. Keep going

Supporters typically don’t give managers’ or players’ personal life a lot of thought. But as we all know, a happy life outside of work increases the likelihood that you will be content at work.

After a challenging couple of weeks, Rodgers and Celtic have regrouped. Even if there are still many tests to go, we already wish everyone could return.
