The West Ham manager David Moyes may have great ambitions for the exceptionally talented young player Ollie Scarles in the future.

Ollie Scarles, a 17-year-old left-back for West Ham, made his debut in the previous campaign with an outstanding display against FCSB in the Europa Conference League in November 2022.

After the Hammers defeated FCSB 3-0, Joe Cole said on BT Sport that Scarles was “outstanding.”

He was accurate, too. He was only 16 at the time, but the young man gave a performance of such grace, brilliance, and maturity.

I think Moyes might have big plans for Scarles…

David Moyes’ decision to spend £20 million on Ollie Scarles could save West Ham millions of dollars.

The Hammers starlet really started out as a central midfielder in his infancy, but over the past year or so, he has been growing as a left wing-back, and what a player he is.

West Ham was extensively connected with a new left-back during the summer transfer window since Aaron Cresswell was expected to leave the London Stadium.

However, Cresswell chose to remain in East London, and Moyes did not pursue his early enthusiasm for the 21-year-old Chelsea left-back.
The underlying cause, in my opinion, may have been that Scarles are rising through the ranks. It is obvious that Cresswell’s time playing at the highest level of the game is over. Now might be Scarles’ chance to shine and demonstrate his abilities to us all.

Although I don’t think he’ll start any Premier League games this year, I do anticipate seeing him in the first rounds of the domestic cup competitions.

He possesses all the qualities required to be a top-notch left wing-back for West Ham. He moves with extraordinary speed, stamina, and agility.
