Joe Worrall, the captain of Nottingham Forest, has agreed to a new two-year contract with the team that will keep him at Trentside through the summer of 2026.

The 26-year-old was in the penultimate year of his previous contract when Forest made the decision to extend his employment by at least three more years.

Worrall will continue playing for his childhood club under the new contract after rising through the ranks at Forest since arriving in the summer of 2015.

In his early years at City Ground, Worrall spent time away from Forest, going on loan to Dag & Red and Scottish Premiership powerhouse Rangers.

He made his first team debut for Forest in 2017 and has since established himself as a key member of the Tricky Trees, appearing in 220 games and contributing five goals and six assists.

The center-back was outstanding in Forest’s most recent 1-0 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. He has been in each of Forest’s first four Premier League games this season.
