In their victory over Wolves the previous weekend, Eze scored his first goal of the Premier League campaign. His surrounding strikers have been in excellent form, and Odsonne Edouard and Jean-Philippe Mateta have had a significant impact on games.
Statistics about Eze have emerged on Twitter, and they show that if Roy Hogdson sticks with the straightforward strategy that helped the Eagles defeat the Wolves, Eze could flourish.
Eze might advance with a tactical shift
Prior to Hodgson changing the strategy, Palace struggled to be an attacking force in their victory over Wolves.
Mateta was brought on, and a 4-4-2 was used. Eze was a left midfielder who was free to move about during this. He afterwards scored a goal.
Now, strategies posted on social media by data scientist JK revealed that if Hogdson employed this easy tactical adjustment more often, Eze would prosper.
The ‘amazing’ forward is one of the best, if not the best player at Crystal Palace, and he was in excellent form toward the conclusion of the last campaign, scoring six goals in nine games.
It would make even more sense for Hodgson to convert to a 4-4-2 in order to assist Eze advance and keep both of his hot-shot forwards on the field after Edouard and Mateta each contributed four goals to the victory over Wolves.
