According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Andre Gomes is not in Sean Dyche’s plans for the season, hence Everton is aggressively trying to move him on.

Any possible withdrawal in the upcoming days is anticipated to be advantageous for the Toffees in terms of Financial Fair Play.

The Turkish transfer window, which is still open until next week (15 September), may be his final opportunity to leave Goodison Park this summer.

Gomes spent the previous season on loan at Ligue 1 club Lille, but he wasn’t successful enough to secure a long-term transfer to northern France.

While playing with Les Dogues, he made 27 appearances and contributed three goals and two assists.

According to reports, the midfielder’s Everton deal, which is valid until June 2024, pays him around £110,000 a week.

Gomes, who moved to Everton from Barcelona in 2019 for a reported £22 million, will be able to negotiate a pre-contract deal with international parties starting on January 1.

With his final game in the Premier League in May 2022, he has made 100 appearances for the team.

He hasn’t played yet in the 2023–24 season, though, since Dyche is looking elsewhere for solutions in the midfield.

Since the end of the previous season, talents including Demarai Gray, Moise Kean, Alex Iwobi, Tom Cannon, Ellis Simms, and Niels Nkounkou have all left Goodison Park for transfer payments.

Everton released midfielder Jean-Philippe Gbamin earlier this summer after failing to sign him to a new team. Gbamin also cost a staggering £25 million in 2019.

After last week’s 2-2 draw at Sheffield United, Dyche’s team is still winless in the Premier League this year.

Everton receives a £40 million pay increase in unrelated news.
