Latest Nottingham Forest transfer news from Nottinghamshire Live as an underperforming striker leaves to join Trabzonspor in Turkey
According to reports, Emmanuel Dennis of Nottingham Forest’s move to Turkey has fallen through.
The 25-year-old, who hasn’t played for the Reds this year, was reportedly being watched by Trabzonspor. On September 15, the Turkish Super Lig summer window will close. There is just under a week left.
The scouting staff at Trabzonspor allegedly produced a “positive report” on Dennis, according to the Turkish publication Sports Digitale. Dennis is also rumored to have been on the radar of the Saudi Arabian company Al-Tai, but the opening in the developing Middle Eastern market has passed.
Paul Onuachu, Dennis’ native countryman, is reportedly being considered by Trabzonspor despite being set to depart Southampton after a disastrous stint on the south coast, according to Own Goal Nigeria. According to The Daily Mail, Onuachu will undergo a medical before a transfer.
Dennis signed a four-year contract with the Reds one year ago after transferring from Watford. He had trouble contributing last season, though, and hasn’t played yet this one.
Before the deadline on previous Friday, Forest increased their assault capabilities. In the last 24 hours of the window, they signed winger Callum Hudson-Odoi and striker Divock Origi. Earlier in the window, Anthony Elanga had already joined Steve Cooper’s team.
The Reds changed their roster in an effort to advance in the Premier League, bringing in a total of 13 new players. However, they also let a sizable number of players to move in the opposing way, either on temporary or long-term contracts.
Greece’s transfer window is still open, just as it is for Saudi Arabia and Turkey. There, it closes on September 11. Giulian Biancone and Cheikhou Kouyate, two Forest players, have been linked to Olympiacos, another team controlled by Evangelos Marinakis.
