In their forthcoming match, Burnley manager Vincent Kompany has warned Nottingham Forest that his players would be hungry for points.
In the first round of games following the break for overseas travel, the two clubs will square off at the City Ground on Monday (7.45pm kickoff). Burnley has not accrued any points from its opening three games, whereas Forest has two victories through its first four contests.
Before the match, Kompany stated that his team had “room for improvement” as they sought to win at Forest. Burnley is eager to win this game, but their Belgian manager is aware that Forest has the same goals in mind.
There is no denying that these are the kinds of games you want to win, and both parties will experience the same emotions that we do.
“I still believe that there is considerable opportunity for development within our team, so I am unable to make any conclusions at this time. If we succeed, it’s a positive omen that things will improve for us.
Anything else is still a chance for us to produce outcomes in the future. We are aware that this season will be difficult as we attempt to establish our legitimacy in this league.
We also need to consider how long this season will last. This does not imply that each game is not equally crucial to the outcome, but rather that the wider picture is how we improve and achieve our goals.
“We believe we will arrive there, and for us, it is only a matter of time.”
