Before departing Nottingham Forest this summer, Remo Freuler was confused by his lack of playing time toward the conclusion of the previous season.
The midfielder transferred from Serie A team Atalanta to the City Ground in August 2022 for a rumored £7.6 million. During his lone and last season with the Reds, he played in 33 games across all competitions.
Freuler, who has 57 total caps for Switzerland, found it difficult to adjust to life there before returning to Serie A in the summer and signing with Bologna.
Additionally, Freuler believes that Reds manager Steve Cooper was vague about what he was doing wrong after having his playing time cut back toward the end of his tenure at Forest.
According to Freuler, “Before he had also given me the captain’s armband,” according to Corriere dello Sport.
We continued to meet halfway after I spoke to him, but he was unable to explain what I had done incorrectly.
Additionally, the 31-year-old said he wished his transfer to Serie A “would be closed sooner.”
Naturally, I thought that the move would be completed sooner, he continued.
Although I would have preferred to arrive right away, I was aware that I would need to exercise patience given the nature of talks.
