David Moyes needs to take a risk and bench a West Ham player for our matchup with Liverpool the following week.
In general, West Ham United played well against Manchester City yesterday, but we ultimately lost 3-1, and David Moyes will be unhappy with a few of the errors that were made.
Although the Hammers have had a strong start to the 2023–24 season, I have one major issue in particular.
While Nayef Aguerd has accomplished a lot, he has also made several glaring errors.
And I believe Moyes should remove him from the firing line at this point.
David Moyes must bench a West Ham United player for the matchup with Liverpool.
The second goal scored by Manchester City at the London Stadium yesterday afternoon was Aguerd’s fault. He is 27 years old.
The main concern is that this wasn’t an uncommon error; instead, they appear to be occurring far too frequently.
The former Rennes star, who cost £30 million to acquire last summer, must rapidly grasp the fact that errors in the Premier League against the greatest clubs almost always result in penalties.
I think he has been a major letdown this season; I had high hopes for him.
Listen, I’m not suggesting Nayef Aguerd is finished playing for West Ham; I just think David Moyes needs to bench him for a few games.
In the background, Konstantinos Mavropanos and Angelo Ogbonna are both more reliable operators than the Moroccan.
Aguerd’s positional awareness, hasty judgment, and gullibility have already cost the Hammers several times this season.
In my opinion, David Moyes must now let go of the West Ham player for his own good.
