Tom Watson, a young player for Sunderland, reportedly attracted interest from Nottingham Forest during the summer transfer window.

According to The Sun, the Premier League club valued the 17-year-old youth international midfielder at about £300,000 during the previous transfer window.

However, since Watson signed a new contract at the Stadium of Light earlier this month, that sum will have gone up.

As he entered the final year of his two-year scholarship contract, the Rangers and other Premier League clubs were showing interest in the England junior star.

Watson’s ascent nearly resembled Rigg’s from the previous season, and it culminated in his debut against Huddersfield Town.

However, concerns were raised when Watson missed Sunderland’s preseason games due to uncertainty surrounding his contract and future transfers. Watson is still recovering from a back ailment that he sustained during the close of the previous season, it is known.
