According to Claret & Hugh, West Ham would consider proposals for center-back Nayef Aguerd that range in price from £50 million to $60 million.
In the most recent transfer window, Aguerd was rumored to be leaving West Ham but remained at the London Stadium.
However, according to a post made on Sunday [17 September] and published by the site’s creator Hughie Southon, the Hammers’ position has since altered.
It follows Aguerd’s involvement in Man City’s second goal in their 3-1 victory over West Ham on Saturday [16 September].
Nayef Aguerd, who has been linked with both Manchester City and Newcastle, might be on his way if the appropriate kind of offer is made next summer, according to the article.
When arguing that City’s second goal was subpar in yesterday’s remarks, David Moyes did not specifically mention him, but it was obvious that he held the center defender accountable.
And we have found that comments regarding his earlier performances have been made in the Hammers boot room, so it is not the first time that his errors have elicited a response from there.
And it appears that if either club — or others — made proposals in or around £50 million, the club would take a look.
Not the first occasion
Aguerd was mentioned as a target for Liverpool and the Saudi Arabian team Al-Ittihad in addition to City and Newcastle.
At that point, the Moroccan international’s reputation could not have been much greater, but his performance against City demonstrated that he is not without flaws.
Aguerd’s blunders could result in the summer signing Konstantinos Mavropanos observing from the bench.
Aguerd will be miffed with the clearance he made, which set up Bernardo Silva’s skillful finish, which Alan Shearer highlighted on Match of the Day.
After the game, Moyes stated that he was “disappointed” with the goal and thought it was a “poor” goal to concede.
Even though Aguerd wasn’t specifically mentioned, it was obvious who the West Ham manager was talking to.
He has made mistakes before this year, and the 27-year-old would benefit from some time away from the team.
