Ahead of the Premier League matchup against Burnley, Sky Sports analyst Jamie Carragher emphasized how Nottingham Forest are not being mentioned as major relegation candidates this season.

Forest enters the contest with high spirits after having a successful season so far. In their most recent match, the Reds defeated Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge.

They return to action tonight (Monday) at the City Ground when they play freshly promoted Burnley. Following transfers on deadline day, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ibrahim Sangare are making their club debuts in this match.

Prior to the game, Carragher discussed how the matchup against Chelsea suited Forest’s style and the players who had recently joined the team on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football. He has also mentioned the ‘change’ in conversations surrounding Forest this year.

“I know Steve Cooper from my involvement with the Liverpool Academy, but whether he signed them or the club, the players he ended up with were perfect for being a team that played deep and then on the counterattack,” he added. Morgan Gibbs-White had a significant role in it, and they continued it into this season.

“Away at Chelsea, it really was a huge result for them and it demonstrated all they stand for. However, the amazing thing about Nottingham Forest is that they stayed up late last season despite consistently being in or around the relegation zone. This season, I do believe they will be there, but no one is predicting that Nottingham Forest will be dropped.

“We are witnessing a transformation in the team that makes you assume they are a large, powerful team that depends heavily on speed on the counterattack. It’s definitely not simple to travel here.
