A win or two can really help you move up the standings at this early stage of the Championship season, and Leeds moved up a few spots thanks to their outstanding 3-0 success over Millwall at The New Den.

The all whites are starting to find their footing, which is concerning for the rest of the league even if they are still a ways off the top—at the time of writing, Daniel Farke’s team are eight points behind Preston North End.

Georginio Rutter was one player who stood out against the south Londoners over the weekend, and Sky Sports analyst Clinton Morrison had nothing but praise for him.

“Very good finish (against Millwall),” he said on Sky Sports News.

In the Premier League, he had difficulties. However, he appears to be a handful in the Championship and is scoring goals.

“The forward-looking players Leeds has. (For promotion) They ought to be there or close to it.

If they want to keep moving up the ladder and get closer to the elite clubs, Rutter’s boss will undoubtedly need him and his teammates to be performing at the same level as they did against Millwall.

Now that the summer transfer window is over, Elland Road can calm down and Farke may resume his work without interference from outside forces.

If Rutter continues to perform in the same manner as he has thus far, the Yorkshire-based club won’t travel.
