At Everton, Andre Gomes might still have a role to play.
Andre Gomes, a midfielder for Everton, occasionally appeared likely to depart the club during the most recent summer transfer window. He spent previous season on loan at the French team Lille.
Although a move to Turkey was suggested, it never materialized, and Gomes is still listed as a player at Goodison Park. Sean Dyche, the manager of Everton, considers this to be fantastic news.
The manager of the Toffees thinks Gomes can help this year. According to Dyche, who was reported by Liverpool World, “he is aware that I want him to get healthy and participate in our efforts. He has shown to be a very good football player in my opinion over the years.
Make the most of Gomes for Everton.
Gomes is now out of the game due to an injury, but he should be able to resume playing soon. The 30-year-old has the potential to significantly alter the Everton midfield group this year.
Dyche has chosen to start a midfield combination of Idrissa Gueye, Amadou Onana, and Abdoulaye Doucoure in each of the club’s five Premier League games thus far this season. So far, this configuration has not led to fruitful outcomes.
Everton has struggled to find inventiveness and cunning in the middle of the park. Gomes would contribute a lot of it. The £112,212-a-week star, if he can stay healthy and back to his best, would give the Toffees’ build-up play a new dimension.
Few would have predicted Gomes might play a significant role for Everton this season. The 29-cap former Portugal international may prove to be something of a secret weapon for the Merseyside club, though, as Dyche’s current strategy is failing.
Everton should definitely try to make the most of having Gomes at their disposal while they are still paying his salary.
